Everything went well, the guide was at the right place and was easy to find. On the way he was telling us some stories about the palace, he accompanied us to the entrance door, we did not have to wait in line to get in. Negative point was that the guide only spoke English so I did not learn anything of what he explained, only a couple of details as another person who was in the group translated it.

I got the host option because there were no regular tickets available at the time I chose. It was great to have someone help me make a strategy to see all the most important points, especially since I was arriving near the end of the day. Because I had a plan, I wound up with extra time and was able to explore the whole grounds, but otherwise I may have wasted time backtracking or figuring out where I had and had not been. I loved going in the underground caves and passageways. Don't miss the famous Knights Templar well!
We thought that in the Peña Castle we had an audio guide but to our surprise when we went to listen to it we didn't have it. I don't know if it was a mistake but just as we had it in the Regaleira we understood that we also had it in the Peña Castle. Since with the price we paid it should be included.

I tried multiple purveyors to book my ticket (5 times), and HeadOut was the only successful attempt that completed my purchase. I had my heart set on an in-depth tour of Quinta da Regaleira. Thank you for making it work
As we couldn't find the guide in time, we went straight to the Quinta, even at the suggestion of the guide, who wasn't there to welcome us. The guide couldn't explain to us that we had to ask for the audio guide at the ticket office. The meeting point should have been at Quinta da Regaleira and the guide should have had more knowledge of Portuguese to communicate with us.

I had to check "the guide rushed through the tour" because something needed to be checked in order for me to submit this review (please consider adding more options). The tour was nice and the guide was very professional but the idea of organizing bilingual groups is just terrible. It is tiring, time-consuming and inefficient when the guide has to talk for 10 minutes in one language and then 10 minutes in the other language, and each time one part of the group has to wait for the "other language" part to finish.
I really liked this place! Highly recommended! Mystical place, esoteric place. I had a lot of fun and didn't want to leave. I wanted to walk around and explore every corner. Numerous grottos, caves, labyrinths, beautiful gardens, flowers - you can see the care of the staff. The labyrinth was very impressive. It was interesting and scary at the same time to walk with a flashlight through the labyrinth, not knowing what lies ahead. I will definitely come again!

The farm is a beautiful place with many interesting architectural features. Our guide explained everything to us and was extremely friendly. I'd love to go back one of these days.

The guard at tge entrance said we had tge wrong ticket time but was kind enough to let us go in as soon as we went up to him. I'm not sure what would have happened if he didn't allow us to go in. Your guide was very informative and did allow us to come earlier than our scheduled time so we appreciated him on that.
This process worked pretty well. It was a little confusing meeting the guide as they were not wearing the designated t-shirt.
We loved this attraction and were really happy to be able to get the tickets online as we had experienced tickets selling out elsewhere. We didn't actually use any other part of the service except purchasing our tickets but that's what we wanted and it went smoothly.
Our guide explained everything very well, in English and Spanish, and answered every question. The site is magnificent.

The reservation with you has been very good...To see kilometers long queues and arrive and pass is the best. It is worth seeing the quinta de regaleira.

I was recommended to buy tickets online. This can only be done on the 11am and 12pm time slots. So I was obliged to adjust my travel schedule to these time slots. But there was no one standing by in the afternoon. Why are there no time slots in the afternoon?

Great experience am glad I booked through headout. The help in finding the right bus to get to the attraction was top notch. The host was also very helpful and attentive.

Experience with Headout was great. Host was full of good information. Disappointed in rudeness of staff at entry gates at Regaleira but didn't let that ruin our visit. Beautiful castle with amazing grounds to discover.
I took the wrong turn in Pena Palace Park (a wonderful and wild maze of twisty roads and paths) and missed my scheduled time slot. I was so late, that I had completely resigned myself that I was going to miss the experience and forfeit my ticket, but then I received a call from a representative of Headout who helped me find my way there. I was so grateful for the assistance and the opportunity to see this gorgeous property. Thank you!
It was a very nice place to visit. Our tour guide showed up well in adavance of the start time and provided us with plenty of information. I would give him 5 stars. However, when it was time to skip the very long line the person at the gate was refusing entry and said there was no such thing as a skip the line ticket. There was a lot of back and forth between the gate attendent and our tour guide. We were also yelled at by severl people in line who had tickets for the same time. It made for a very stressful start to our entry.
Purchasing experience on your website was good. The fact that for the audio guide another app had to be dowloaded was not comfortable. On top, some languages were missing (italian) for this attraction
I was charged additional total 10 euros for JUMP THE LINE TICKETS which didn't really work at the site for you still need to line up there at the entrance to get in. For a first time visitor, I would expect that this is a express line for the JUMP THE LINE ticket holder just like any other sites in the States or Europen cities, which is not the case and the 2 persons who arrived the same time paid 10Euro less but entered even earlier . So the question is that what's for additional 10Euro for?
Hugo was a great guide, spending lots of energy to tell us all kind of stories about the place. The overall experience was great!
The area itself is beautiful, mystical and unique, unfortunately we were ordered to a place and no one picked us up.

I have purchased 2 adult skip the line tickets, but as I arrived and asked the host, they advised they don't have a skip the line ticket. I had to return back to a long line to wait to enter.
Everything went well at Quinta da Regaleira. I received the audio guide via the app and everything went well Regarding the Pena Palace, I bought the most expensive combo, which included the audio guide and transportation. I didn't receive the audio guide via the app or by email. I thought I would receive it on site, but that didn't happen either. In other words, I paid a lot more for a service I didn't receive. I would also suggest changing the description of the combo. The way it was written, I understood that I was buying a ticket that would include transportation from Quinta da Regaleira to Pena Palace, but that's not the case. I went back to the description and it said Park - Palace transportation. I understand that I've misinterpreted it, but I suggest making it clearer. It's difficult for those who don't know to understand exactly what this transportation is (it's from the gate where the Pena Palace is located to the entrance of the Palace). If you don't take the shuttle, you have to climb a steep path that takes half an hour).

It was a 2 hour guided tour with a guide and it lasted less time. The guide was local and young and although he told a lot of things he lacked experience.

We loved it, beautiful, the guide's explanations were great. It was worth it. The meeting point is not where Google maps shows, but where you buy the tickets.

We are so happy to have this experience with a knowledgeable guide. And of course be able to skip the line was good, although, we kind of waited until the line cleared, so we didn't exactly "skip" the line. Our guide was very knowledgeable and since we had English speakers and Spanish speakers in the group he spoke in English and Spanish simultaneously! I was very very impressed. The site has so many interesting back stories and details, we are happy that we had that help.
Our tour of Quinta da Regaleira was amazing! It's such a beautiful place full of history with lots to see. Our very knowledgeable tour guide, George, was excellent at sharing information and taking us to the best areas on the grounds. We would reccommed booking a tour for this, to make the most of your visit. And booking through headout was very simple!
Our guide was Lunor. She was fantastic. She knew so much of the history that we wouldn't have gotten on our own. The place itself is magnificent especially the well. It was a highlight of our trip. We booked this last minute and couldn't get tickets on our own and I'm glad it worked out this way. It was worth it!
It was nice to have a knowledgeable guide (Guelherme) to tell us what we were looking at. Guy was patient with the guests and informed about the grounds of the property!
The Rosegarden Hotel in Sintra cancelled my reservation when I was on my way there from Barcelona. The closest substitute hotel was very far away, so my wife and I were not able to attend this tour.
Our guide Myria was exceptional! She was not rushing and to top it of she sang beautifully! We booked and paid for Palace Pena right after this one but could not get there due to the roads and parking is not a possibility. We drove around twice 30 minutes x 2. So frustrated and gave up. Is there anyway we can get a refund please. Thank you
The guide was late and the venue was angry and unhelpful about it saying- we were not even eligible for a refund or to see the venue at all if the guide did not arrive. The group was extremely large- which meant starting late and waiting o. Everyone at each stop- the guide didn't really explain much I hadn't read online already. The guide gave general history rather than explaining what we were actually Seeing and we missed a sizable part of the property- whether on purpose or because limited time due to late start and large group I do not know. The guide was pleasant but didn't actually add much value at all. One of my first guided tours and very disappointed.
You get Million dollar location with this airy and bright apartment. Ana was very helpful and apartment was clean and very spacious.
I thought the communication on where to meet could have been better. It took me nearly 30 mins to find the correct spot as the address given is useless. I was disappointed it started 15 minutes late, waiting on 3 people that didn't show up. 5 minutes max is a reasonable wait time in my opinion, especially as the place gets very crowded very quickly. Guide was informative but a bit boring in presentation but definitely covered the important info.
Myriam was the best tour guide we have ever had the privilege to meet. She is the best asset to your company. I hope you appreciate her. She made our trip amazing
Excellent guide Carlos, very professional, very entertaining, explained great and captured your attention from start to finish. A very didactic and entertaining tour.

Hi, the tour guide arrived on the spot and was kind and willing to answer our questions throughout the visit. We wish he could give us somewhat more details re. the esoteric practices carried out in the mansion, however we appreciate that each person has different interests so all in all it was a positive experience and we'd recommend it!
Purchasing tickets through Headout was easy and the tour Fred gave us was excellent! He knew a lot about the area and was not just limited to a few facts related to our tour. He did a good job managing the group as well. The only area for improvement, and it may be an issue for the site and not Headout, was the chaotic scene before entering the gardens. There were lots of tourists in queue and crowding the tiny street that passes by the gate. The tour guides should have a more clear gathering space so their group knows where to go and can meet together in an organized way before entry.
Friendly, fun, helpful, knowledgable guide. Made it all very easy and pleasant. He seems to love what he does and that good energy passes on.
The guide was very nice but we expected much more content, he gave us very interesting information but I think he could have gone much deeper.

Excellent attention by the company and by our guide named Inés, all very detailed her talk and we appreciate this nice experience.
The tour guide was amazing, told us so many interesting stories and history and bought the castle to life. It was also very easy to find the guides at the begining even though I booked very last minute. 100% made the right choice and would recommend for everybody!
It is an excellent guided tour inside the farm. Very enjoyable and interesting. A place not to be missed in Sintra. Congratulations!

I loved Quinta da Regateira, a very positive experience from the architecture to the gardens. Tour guide Jorge very informative, good communicator and assertive.

The site is very nice but I thought that if I paid with a guided tour I would not have to wait in line so I advise you to enter without a guide and save money.

I am very satisfied with the guided tour. On a vacation it is very important the experience you have before a visit with a guide. We had Joao Farinha as our guide and it was a great experience. Very didactic and fun. I would recommend it to everyone just for the guide that we had. Congratulations and pass it on to him.

Castle was wonderfull. I m from Slovakia and I had realy nice experience from a trip to Sintra.I will only recomend to my friends to visit Portugual next time.😉🤗!
No issues at all. Arrived and it was a quick walk up the hill, maybe 15 mins and then had time for a coffee before our entrance time. Great experience!
An incredible experience, from start to finish. Starting at the palace and ending in the park. You can spend a whole day here discovering all the trails that extend throughout the park, nature at its best.

Palacio da Pena, very nice but the way to walk to the top is horrible. Better to park the car and take a cab or tuctuc. Quinta da Regaleira is also worth a visit. Very nice all around. For me the worst thing is the private cars that you don't know where to park them.
View original review in Spanish
The palace was pretty, but not near as pretty as others I've been to. The audio guide did not sync with the venue and I had a hard time getting it to talk about where I was standing.
Rich in culture and vast enough to explore at my leisure. However some parts of the park weren't clearly sign posted. This makes a difference when you're a bit tired. You wouldn't want to be going in the wrong direction at that point 😀
Experience was fab but need to warn people to leave along time between each place they visit in sintra and recommend which order as much of the route is one way
ticketing was easy. It's a beautiful place to visit inside and out. While the park was beautiful, even in early November, we struggled to get back to the 'exit' or bus stop because the signage and maps weren't really in sync so it took a lot longer than we wanted and we often came to intersections, whether on a trail or on a park 'road' and we couldn't figure out which way to go. And in finding what looked like a landmark...a fountain or pond, we couldn't find it on the map we were were referencing on our phone.
Unfortunately, being a rainy day with a lot of fog, we were not able to see the outside beauty but only the inside

2 must-see historic sites in Sintra .... Too bad the sun wasn't out... and the shuttle bus fare was excessive at €4.50 one way (there's no such thing as a return ticket); we found the Pena park badly signposted (we got a bit lost) ...

The venue was wall-to-wall people. I felt like I was in a cattle drive. You moved a few inches and then wait a few more inches and then wait. The buildings were beautiful, but it was way too crowded.
The timed tickets are stressful as it doesn't start at the gate but a 10 minute hike from the gate and everyone starts lining up half an hour early. Unfortunately we didn't know this and almost weren't let in but the security made the exception and I'm so glad he did because the palace is absolutely incredible! Best part of the whole Lisbon trip
It is a beautiful architectural site with much history. Unfortunately, there were multiple large areas of the palace being renovated and rooms we were unable to see.
We like the rooms we visited in the castle and all the interesting artifacts displayed. The Views from the terrace were amazing The booking process was easy however we did not appeciate how long it wodul take ot get to the Palace from the centre of Sintra. Luckily we got there in time but you could easier get caught out and miss your time slot.
I was charged additional total 10 euros for JUMP THE LINE TICKETS which didn't really work at the site for you still need to line up there at the entrance to get in. The palace architecture, bright colors, design, decor, historical significance, location ...at the end of a very beautiful hike
I liked the Moorish Castle, but I found the Pena Palace very poorly maintained, with dirty toilets and no hygiene items in general. The access roads also need to be better signposted. Many visitors, like me and my wife, got lost or had great difficulty locating certain destinations, including the exit.

Spectacular palace to visit. They are certainly working hard to keep it in good repair. It looks beautiful. Loved our walk through the gardens as well.
Head out experience was easy to use. The oena palace we arrived on a very wet day. Even though the weather wasn't great the palace was something to see
The way to go in. You lose your patience on the traffic to the place. The solution is shuttles from the bottom of the mountain to the palace, and no private vehicle will go up, this will also make it easier for the villagers who live in the area.
Both palaces and parks were beautiful and there was lots to see, even on a foggy day! Only thing that would have helped was clearer signage where the lines for Quinta da Regaleira gather.
We were very impressed with the Pina Palace and the Quinta da Regaleira. Everything was very interesting but we did find that there were enough indications at the Quinta da Regaleira though. We kept going around in circles trying to find the palace. We had to ask how to find it.

Sintra harbors numerous opulent 19th-century villas, yet none rival the intrigue of Quinta da Regaleira. This majestic residence seamlessly melds eccentric, Neo-Gothic architecture with whimsically ornate features. However, the focal point of Quinta da Regaleira lies in its gardens. These are not the conventional grounds of a typical estate but rather the creation of an owner captivated by clandestine religious orders and mysticism.

The outside is something of an artistic labyrinth. The architecture combines elements from the Renaissance, Neo-Manueline, Egyptian, Gothic, and Moorish styles. You will find tons of gargoyles, capitals, gothic turrets, an octagonal tower, and interesting motifs, adorning the palace exteriors and rendering a mystical appearance.
Exquisitely carved fireplaces, gorgeous wooden ceilings, elaborate inlaid mosaic flooring, and Venetian glass mosaics make up the interiors of the mansion. Even though the palace has five floors, you can only visit the top floor. Formal areas like the dining room, music room, billiards room, and living room are on the first floor.
The Regaleira garden complex at Quinta is its finest feature. It is strewn with whimsical follies. The Promenade of the Gods is located on one of the main entrances to the estate. Along this walkway are numerous stone statues of Greek deities, including Venus, Hermes, and Dionysus, some of which are entwined with flora.
The most frequented location in the garden is an Initiation Well. Allegedly used for secretive Masonic rituals, the spiral staircase leads 90 feet down into the earth's interior. The well has nine platforms, which are compared to the nine circles of Hell, the nine regions of Purgatory, and the nine heavens that create Paradise in Dante's Divine Comedy.
A vast and mysterious network of tunnels with numerous access points, such as grottoes, the chapel, Waterfall Lake, and Leda's Cave, located beneath the Regaleira Tower, is part of the garden complex. A tunnel system beneath the Quinta da Regaleira garden can be reached from the bottom of the Initiation Well by a disguised entrance from the top.
The Regaleira Chapel is located in front of the palace's main entrance. Its design is similar to the palace. The chapel's interior is lavishly ornamented with murals, stained glass windows, and elaborate stucco. Along with other religious images, the frescoes feature images of Teresa of Vila and Saint Anthony.
Duration of Visit: 2 to 3 hours
Best Time to Visit: It is best to visit the Quinta de Regaleira during the months of May to October as the weather is pleasant. If you reach it in the early hours of the morning on weekdays or late afternoon, you will find the palace at its quietest.
